Now who doesn't love chickpeas?
They are cheap and easy to use, they are very tasty and you can add them to so many great recipes.
Chickpeas are full of IRON
They are rich in VITAMIN B
A great source of PROTEIN
High in FIBRE
This recipe is quick and easy to make.
A great one to have at home or even better for on the go.
The rest of the ingredients are easy to source and make.
So lets get started......

YOU WILL NEED:
1 ripe Avocado
1 can of Chickpeas
one small red onion chopped
chopped cilantro or Corriander
1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin
A generous pinch of garam masala
juice of 1 lime or bottled lime juice
Generous amount of black pepper
Pitas
FOR THE PITA:
Iceberg Lettuce or you could try tomatoes, rocket, greens etc...
Avocados like Chickpeas have great benefits for your health.
They contain good FATTY ACIDS that have
anti inflammatory properties.
Have an excellent source of VITAMIN C, E, K,
B-6, MAGNESIUM and POTASSIUM
They can help LOWER CHOLESTEROL
and are full of FIBRE
METHOD
Start by cooking the chickpeas in its water in a saucepan.
Drain and then mash the chickpeas and avocado together until they are well mashed. It doesn't matter if a few chickpeas are left whole.

Add the chopped red onion and cilantro


Add the spices
The lime Juice

Finish with the pepper

Give it a good mix
Prep your pitas (toasting them if preferred)
Add the lettuce or any filling of your choice along with your chickpea and avocado mix
